the travel bug

We have now been in one place for just over a year! If you don't count the 3 weeks flying visit to the states. On one hand I have been dreaming of bus travel and craving a bit of a change. On the other I am quite content at the moment with our little space in Woodville and our gardens that are growing everyday.
We put the bus in the shop last week to get the brakes fixed. We were "homeless" for a few days. It was great! We moved into the little flat next to where the bus is parked. Our "spare room." We slept on air mattresses and I set up a little makeshift kitchen. We ate our meals outside. It almost felt like I was in the woods again. It really felt like a little holiday. We even stayed an extra night in the flat when we got out bus back!

the truth from the garden

the stuffed zucchini and the wee little chicken

We have these cute little zucchini growing in the garden. We are about to have an abundance of zucchini as you do. But for now they are still exciting. I thought I would try stuffing them. They turned out yum, but took longer to cook than I was expecting.
I cooked the Zucchini first for about half an hour. Then cut off the top and scoop out the seeds. I stuffed with mashed potato, peas, onion, garlic and cheese on top. Cooked them for another hour and they were just done.
Can you believe this chicken?! A beautiful friend made it for me for Christmas. It just perches on the oven waiting to be used to pull a hot tray out of the oven. Just looking at that cute lil thing makes me smile.

Yum!

the Christmas post.

Better late than never! We enjoyed Christmas lunch with Gran and Mum and fresh food from the garden! The potatoes and garden peas were ready just in time.
